Street Light Maintenance

The City of Lee’s Summit leases most City street lights from Kansas City Power and Light (KCPL). The only street lights owned and maintained by the City of Lee’s Summit are along arterial roads. Currently, the following arterial roads have city owned and maintained street lights with more city arterial lighting planned:

The street lights in Downtown are also City owned and maintained.

The street lights along I-470, US-50, M-291 and M-150 are all owned and maintained by the Missouri Department of Transportaiton (MoDOT). All other lights are owned and maintained by KCPL.

When requesting maintenance please identify the address (or nearest street intersection) and, if available, the identification number to expedite the response. The identification number can be found on the pole, i.e. L1234 for a KCPL pole or 1G07-2-10 for a city pole.
