Lee’s Summit, Mo. – On Monday, 11-01-2010 at approximately 06:40 am, officers responded to the area of US 50 Highway and NW Chipman Road on a reported injury accident. Upon arrival, officers determined that two vehicles were involved. Initial reports indicate that a white van travelling in the westbound lanes of 50 Highway crossed over into the eastbound lanes and struck a vehicle travelling in the eastbound lanes. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
