Lee’s Summit, Mo. – On Tuesday morning, 10-5-2010 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Price Chopper store in the area of M-291 Highway and 150 Highway on a report of two subjects attempting to make entry into parked vehicles. As officers responded to the area the suspects left the parking lot in a gold Nissan Maxima. The caller followed the suspect vehicle from the area and an officer conducted a stop of the vehicle in the area of SW Ward Road and SW Scherer Road. Following the stop, the officer’s on-scene investigation revealed that the vehicle the subjects were driving had been stolen from Greenwood, MO. The investigation also revealed stolen property inside the vehicle. A cooperative investigation with the Greenwood Missouri Police Department revealed that some of the stolen property inside the vehicle was taken from locations in Greenwood.
Both occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest and transported to the Lee’s Summit Police Detention facility. Arrested was Brendon Dean, an 18 year old male from Lee’s Summit who was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing. Also arrested was David Evans, a 17 year old male from Greenwood. Evans was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing. The Lee’s Summit Police Department is working with the Greenwood Police Department to complete the follow-up investigation.
