12/03/09 Identity of Truck Thief Sought
On Saturday 11-28-09 at 11:35 a.m. police responded to 1830 NW Chipman Rd (Lowes) on the report of a stolen maroon 2002 F-150 quad cab with matching bed shell. While officers were on scene they were contacted by store management who reported capturing the incident on store surveillance. The video clearly shows a black male subject of average build, wearing a black KC ball cap large white t-shirt and dark flannel shirt or jacket, walking the lot canvassing vehicles. After walking through the lot the subject returns to the victims vehicle entering the passenger door then driving away within seconds. The victim reported his passenger side window was open a few inches and the keys were inside the truck. The truck was last seen westbound on NW Chipman Road.
LSPD detectives are asking if anyone recognizes the subject or knows the whereabouts of the truck to contact the Lee’s Summit Police Department directly at 816-969-1720.
