Wednesday afternoon (11-11-09) at 12:20 police and fire personnel were dispatched to the 2700 block of NE Lee’s Summit Road on a fatal two vehicle crash. The crash occurred as a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling southbound on Lee’s Summit Road and cut across the center line on a left hand curve. The Dodge pickup clipped the driver’s side rear-end of a northbound pickup which was maneuvering to avoid the oncoming Dodge. After clipping the northbound vehicle the Dodge pickup crossed over the southbound lane and began to roll as it left the roadway striking a tree line and utility pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the Dodge pickup, a 28 year old male Raymore resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and female passenger of the other pickup were not hurt in the crash. The identities of all motorists involved are being withheld until proper notifications are made.
