10/29/09 Carjacking Subject Arrested
Saturday evening (10-25-09) at 8:15 pm a 25 year old female Lee’s Summit resident was parked in the 1500 block of NE Rice Rd waiting for a family member. While in her vehicle with the engine running she noticed a lone white male walking in the area and became uneasy as he approached her vehicle. When he stopped next to her driver side door she locked the vehicle but rolled down the window to hear as he spoke to her. The male subject told her to get out of the vehicle to which she refused and placed the car in drive. As she was putting the car in drive and pulling away the subject made two threatening statements of pulling out a gun and stated he would shoot if she pulled away, which she was able to do without harm. Once away from the area she immediately called police and reported the incident and gave a description of the subject.
As officers responded to the area a patrol unit checked the closest convenience store to the incident location at Colbern & Rice Rd and spotted a male subject inside the store. The subject matched the description provided by the victim. Officers entered the store and took the him into custody without incident, no weapon was located. The subject, 23 year old Brain K. Marcille of Kansas City, was charged with Attempted 1st DegreeRobbery with a bond set at $150,000. Mr. Marcille is in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
