In a continuing effort to reduce alcohol-related traffic crashes and operation of motor vehicles while intoxicated, the Lee’s Summit Police Department in conjunction with the Jackson County Traffic Safety Task Force will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint this weekend.
The driving while intoxicated enforcement efforts will initiate with roving saturation patrols until the checkpoint is established. The checkpoint will be conducted Saturday evening 09-26-09 from the hours of 11:00 p.m. till 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The location of the checkpoint will be along the SW Third Street corridor on the west side of town.
Motorist passing through the checkpoint should experience only a minimal travel delay in our community effort to reduce alcohol related crashes.
