The City’s snow removal crews are pre-treating streets with rock salt in preparation for the winter weather expected to begin this evening in Lee’s Summit and across the metropolitan area.
According to Weather or Not, snow accumulations of ½ to 2 inches are possible, during the evening and early morning hours, with flurries remaining possible overnight. The snow is expected to end by midnight. However, windy conditions are expected which could lead to blowing and drifting snow. Pavements will also become slick due to refreezing of melting snow.
Weather conditions will be monitored throughout the evening and adjustments to the City’s snow removal operations will be made to effectively deal with changing weather conditions.
