LSPD Participating in National "Click it or Ticket" Campaign
The Lee’s Summit Police Department is joining state and local law enforcement agencies in supporting an aggressive national “Click It or Ticket” seat belt enforcement campaign on November 18th, 2011. Officers will be conducting enforcement in high profile areas and issuing citations to drivers who are not buckled up. Seat belts are the single most effective piece of safety equipment in a vehicle, yet studies show that nearly one out of four Missouri motorists fail to wear a seat belt when driving or riding in a motor vehicle. Studies also show that seven out of ten Missourians killed in traffic crashes were not wearing seat belts. For more information on Missouri seat belt usage, visit www.saveMOlives.com.
