On 8/26/2011 at 10:50 p.m., officers with the Lee’s Summit Missouri Police Department responded to the eastbound lanes of US 50 Highway near Todd George Road in regards to an accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the victim, an adult female who had been struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound on 50 Highway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was treated for minor injuries. The investigation into the cause of the accident is on-going and the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The victim in the accident has been identified as Amy King, a 44 year old female from Pleasant Hill, MO.
