Victim of Fire Related Death Identified

The victim of yesterdays fire in the 700 block of SE Douglas Street has been identified as 33 year old Kelly B. Hill who lived alone at the address.

Thursday morning 09/02/10 at 7:20 am Lee’s Summit Fire and Police personnel were dispatched to 713 SE Douglas Street on the report of an apartment fire which the resident was found deceased in a back bedroom.

Truck crosses against barricade and is struck by train

At 8:10 this morning police and fire personnel were dispatched to the railroad crossing on Hamblen Road just north of Thompson Drive on the report of a pick-up truck being struck by a southbound train.
