Introducing Officers Stewart & Eagan
Read the Lee's Summit Police Department Oath of Office
Personal Profiles are presented as part of the Department’s efforts to introduce officers to the public. Profiles will be published randomly and primarily in reverse order of employment with the newest officers featured first. If you are interested in employment as a police officer with our Department, contact Sergeant Michael Childs and visit the Employment Section on this web site.
Two of the Department’s new officers are currently being featured. Officer Cameron Egan and Officer Phillip Stewart, Jr. both graduated from Kansas City Regional Police Academy and are assigned to the Field Training Program. Upon completion of the Field Training Program each will be assigned to a specific shift and district. So, watch for them. They may soon be visible in your district.
Officer Eagan
Officer Cameron Eagan decided on a career in law enforcement because he finds the diversity of duties exciting. He plans on enjoying every aspect of his career no matter what the assignment. While he admires the hero in some of the recently released action movies, he is a little more low key in his approach to life, enjoying video games, hiking and long walks on the beach. He relies on his connection to his friends to help him relieve stress. Officer Egan currently resides in Sedalia, Mo.
Officer Stewart, Jr.
After completing two enlistments with the Air Force, Officer Phillip Stewart listened to the inner voice beckoning him to a career in law enforcement. Officer Stewart has 8 years experience as a military K-9 handler under his belt and can envision himself resuming these duties at some point in the future should there be an opportunity at the Police Department. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, watching movies, playing video games and finds that these hobbies, along with spending time with his family, provide him with an outlet for handling stress. Officer Stewart also lives in Sedalia, Missouri where he was previously employed as a police officer, rising to the rank of sergeant. Should you have the opportunity to meet Officer Stewart you will probably notice his command of the English language. His pet peeve is the over use of slang and fabricated words.
As part of the Department’s Field Training Program both Officer Egan and Officer Stewart are being rotated through department shifts and are expected to complete their Field Training Programs in mid April.
