Full-Time Employment

Park Operations Specialist

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for a Park Specialist within the Parks Maintenance and Operations Division. The Parks Specialist performs a variety of duties involved with the maintenance and construction of city parks, sports fields,  grounds, and facilities. This position will involve the operation of trucks, tractors and a variety of manual power tools and equipment required for the daily upkeep of 70 acres of sports fields and 29 city parks spanning over 1,200 acres. The preferred candidate will possess knowledge and experience of turf-grass maintenance, irrigation repair and operation, parks maintenance equipment, sports turf management, landscape maintenance and installation, hardscaping, and/or concrete flatwork. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that does require the availability of holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed. LSPR offers employees a competitive benefits package that can be found on the city website: Cityofls.net.

Maintenance Supervisor

Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Supervisor. Duties include daily maintenance operations and cleaning of Legacy Park Community Center. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology preferred plus experience in construction, maintenance or repair, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and aquatic operations. Starting salary is $36,150 plus excellent benefits.

Part-Time Employment

Facility Supervisor – Gamber Community Center

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for a part-time Evening Facility Supervisor to work Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-9pm. The Facility Supervisor responds to telephone requests, assists patrons and performs a wide variety of administrative functions for the entire parks and recreation staff. They Process high volumes of registrations, rentals and memberships and maintains critical cash controls. Also responsible for overseeing the facility and its operations when full-time staff members are absent. Basic Qualifications: Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. Custodian – Gamber Community Center

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for a part-time Evening/Weekend Custodian. Performs routine custodial duties of Gamber Community Center after hours and during special events. This includes general cleaning of the interior and exterior of the facility as well as the set up and breakdown of the Ballroom. He/she also acts as a liaison with community. Basic Qualifications: Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. Site Supervisor – Sylvia Bailey Farm Park

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for a seasonal evening and weekend Site Supervisor. The Site Supervisor would oversee the facility and its operations when full time staff members are absent. Additional responsibilities: Assist staff in setting up for special events and daily operations, assist staff if needed at check in area and concessions. Basic Qualifications: Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. Compensation: $8.50/hour.

Service Representative – City Hall

The Customer Service Representative position for the Parks Administration office answers phones, assists patrons, processes registrations, and assists administrative staff with a wide variety of administrative functions.  Requirements: Prefer graduation from high school and one year of college. At least one year experience in customer service required. Availability M-F between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Hours vary and applicant should be flexible. Compensation: $7.65 / hour.

Itty Bitty Indoor Sports Instructor

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is hiring an Itty Bitty Indoor Sports Instructor. Primary Responsibilities: Teach the children the basics of the specific sport; Provide a positive environment for the children and the parents; keep the classes organized; Run program the entire 45 minute session for several sessions; Encourage children; Keep environment safe. Hours will be week day mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am throughout the Fall and Winter seasons. Position could expand to other Itty Bitty programs. A background and/or the ability to teach the basics of the sports is required.  Compensation: $10.00/hour.

Facility Supervisor - Hartman Park

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is seeking qualified applicants to serve as facility supervisor for the Hartman Park Adult Sports Complex. Primary Responsibilities: Monitor fields, umpires, and parking lots. Additional responsibilities include completing score cards for games, and nightly set up and tear down of patio equipment. LSPR staff is expected to provide exceptional customer service, this position will deal with patron requests in a customer-friendly manner and refers situations to management. Childcare Attendant - Legacy Park Community Center

Legacy Park Community Center is seeking flexible, energetic, creative and personable people to serve in the child care center. Interested candidates must be available weekdays 7:45am – 12:30pm & 4pm-8:30pm; Saturdays 7:45am-2pm; and Sundays 1:45pm-5pm.Requirements: Minimum high school diploma to first year college. Minimum one year experience in working with children between the ages of 6 months to 10 years old. Basic first aid and CPR certification required. RevUP Trainers

Responsible for quality personal training of RevUP participants in a small group setting based upon participants goals established within the program. Exercise Specialist is expected to emphasize customer service, work with retention and promotion of the RevUP program, administer fitness assessments, and assist clients with successfully reaching goals and maintaining motivation. Must be able to analyze community needs, problem solve and communicate solutions relative to the needs of all age groups. Basic first aid and CPR certification required.
