LSARTS Annual Grant Opportunities

The Lee’s Summit Arts Council (LSAC) appreciates the valuable art programs and services provided by our local arts organizations and citizens. To support the cultural arts in our community the LSAC will accept requests for financial support from $501 to $1000. All requests are subject to the LSAC’s approval.  All requests must be at least 90 days in advance of the event.  Requests for annual grants must be turned in by August 1.  The annual funding request will be reviewed by the LSAC sub-committee.  Recommendations will be made and approved by the LSAC at the September at-large meeting.  Applicants will be notified by mid-September.

The following criteria will be considered: community impact, demonstrated need for support, creative use of funds, artistic quality, ability to administer and implement project, and the diversity of population served.

Eligibility: 

1. Support funds must be used for cultural art events/programs that take place in Lee’s Summit.
2. Individuals or organizations receiving financial support must provide a post event written report within two months of the conclusion of the event.  The report should include the following: final overall financial performance, how many people were served, and all public relations materials with Arts Council logo and name, including photos.
3. Mini-grant requests are reviewed the at the LSAC monthly meeting which meets the second Tuesday of every month.
4. All submissions MUST be received 90 days prior to the program or event for consideration.
5. Applicants are required to fill out the online application form for consideration.  Any questions regarding the form or submissions may be directed to Tede Price at 816-969-1541 or tprice@cityofls.net.
6. All approved mini-grants must include the Arts Council logo on ALL marketing materials.
