Downtown Recycling
On Earth Day (April 22) 2009, the City of Lee's Summit debuted 10 new recycle bins in the downtown district. These bins look similar to the existing trash receptacles and are strategically placed near existing trash receptacles throughout the downtown area. Patrons now have the ability to recycle their plastic and aluminum drink containers while shopping, dining, and playing downtown.
These bins were funded in part by a grant from the Mid America Regional Council - Solid Waste Management District and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Feel free to shop, dine, play and RECYCLE the next time you visit downtown!
