 (posted on February 22, 2010 14:49)

The Jackson County Cleanup Coalition is a collaborative effort of Jackson County communities, including Lee's Summit, and the Missouri Department of Transportation working together to prevent and cleanup litter within our County.  In support of Earth Day, the Jackson County Cleanup Coalition is hosting their 2nd Annnual Jackson County Trash Bash on April 2; 10am - Noon at the Independence Events Center, 10900 Easy Valley View Pkwy, Independence, MO.

This year, the Jackson County Trash Bash is offering a poster contest of children ages 5 through 12.  The posters should be no larger than 11" x 17" and can be made with any media desired (crayons, markers, etc.).  The theme for the poster contest is "My Clean County Counts," which is intended to raise children's awareness and understanding about the importance of keeping their community clean and litter free.  Posters can either be mailed or hand-delivered to:  MODOT, District 4 Headquarters, Attn:  Lindy Stuerke, 600 NE Colbern Road, Lee's Summit, MO  64086 by 4pm, March 24, 2010.
