Recycle your old, broken or unwanted holiday light strands at the City’s North Recycling Center, 1951 NE Douglas St. from December 20, 2011 through January 28, 2012.

Receptacles will be located near the Attendant Station during operating hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Recycle your non-artificial holiday tree at the Lee’s Summit Resource Recovery Park, 2101 SE Hamblen Road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The recycling cost is $1 per tree. Please remove all decorations, including lights, garland and ornaments.

Resource Recovery Park (RRP) and Drop-off Recycling Center holiday hours:

  • RRP and North Recycling Center will be closed Sat., Dec. 24.
  • RRP will be closed Sat., Dec. 31.
  • North Recycling Center will be open on Sat., Dec. 31
  • RRP will be open on Mon., Jan. 2.
