Ward Road Improvement Project Open House Oct. 5

An open-house style public meeting for the Ward Road Improvement Project is set to take place from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Raintree Lake Property Owners Association/Clubhouse, 825 SW Raintree Drive.

Public Invited to Open House Regarding Downtown Performing Arts Space & Farmer’s Market Pavilion

The public is invited to attend an Open House meeting to provide input and feedback for the downtown Performing Arts Space and Farmer’s Market Pavilion. There are two meetings from which to choose: Wed., Oct. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Sat., Oct. 29, from noon to 4 p.m., both will be held in the Howard Conference Room on the second floor of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St.

Citizens Asked to Provide Comments and Suggestions Regarding the City’s Charter Review

Citizens have one more opportunity to provide comments and suggestions regarding the Lee’s Summit City Charter before the members of the 2016 Charter Review Commission complete their work. This meeting will be held in the Council Committee Room of City Hall, 220 SE Green Street, at 5:30 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 4, 2016.

Congratulations Lee’s Summit on making Money Magazine’s list of Best Places to Live 2016 ranking as the best place to live in the state of Missouri and 43 on the list of Top 50 best places to live in the country.

“We have been fortunate to have engaged citizens throughout our community who are active in our many civic and governmental boards and committees. Their commitment to public service has helped us make good decisions regarding our current challenges and how to build a better community for the future. I am grateful to these individuals and credit should be given to them for this wonderful recognition,” said Lee’s Summit Mayor Randy Rhoads.

Changes to Recycling Availability at Lee's Summit Schools

Beginning with the start of the new school year on Aug. 17, 2016, the recycling bins located in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District parking lots will now be designated for school and student use only.
