The map of the new Lee’s Summit City Council District boundaries is available for download.
The City Charter requires district boundaries to be reviewed following each decennial census and that districts contain, as nearly as possible, an equal number of inhabitants. According to the 2010 Census, Lee’s Summit’s population increased 29.2% from a total population of 70,200 in the year 2000 to 91,364 in the year 2010. District 2 in the southwest quadrant of the City has the largest population increase with 11,352 or almost 65% additional residents. The boundaries of the four City Council districts were moved to equalize the population in each district.
The Revised District Map is effective December 1, 2011 for the purpose of City candidacy filing. The revised district boundaries will become effective to residents on April 3, 2012.
